Welcome to the City of White Salmon Online Permit Center!
Through the Online Permit Center, you can apply for building permits and land-use applications, check the status of existing permits and land-use applications, pay online, request inspections, and access reference materials.
Permits are required for any new construction or alterations and additions to existing buildings. Also, check with the planning department to determine whether a permit for changes in use, a land use permit, or a critical areas review is required. Inquire about a pre-application meeting at Erikac@whitesalmonwa.gov.
The City of White Salmon contracts with Hood River County's Building Officials. To speak to one of our building officials, contact their office directly at (541) 386-1306 or attend their office open hours Mondays - Thursday, 7-10 AM at 601 State St, Hood River, OR 97031. The average turnaround with a complete building permit submission is 30-45 days.

The Washington State Building Code is comprised of the model code editions listed with Washington State Amendments. The 2021 editions of the codes listed are currently in effect.

Business License
The City of White Salmon has partnered with the Washington Department of Revenue for business licensing, and the city's endorsement is now obtained/renewed online at www.dor.wa.gov. All contractors, including subcontractors, must have an active city business license. You can also contact DOR at 360-705-6741 if you need help. The new city business license/endorsement fee is $75.00/$50.00 renewal.
